Job Description 👇

Database Management:

  • Administer AWS RDS (Relational Database Service), Aurora, and other AWS database services, maintenance of 24x7 corporate database environment.

  • Monitoring of SQL Agent jobs and remediates failures when they occur.

  • Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, patching, and upgrades. Support production and non-production deployments of database schema changes, code deployments, and stored procedures.

  • Create automated scripted solutions to perform various administration and monitoring tasks.

  • Maintain legacy SQL on-prem environments

Data Security, Availability and Compliance:

  • Implement and manage database security policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.

  • Configure and manage encryption, access controls, and auditing.

  • Design, implement and support disaster recovery solutions

  • Ensure HA configurations are in alignment with business continuity requirements and service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Build and enforce database change management, security standards and best practices across various database environments and ensure processes are adhered to and documented.

Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve database issues and performance problems.

  • Provide support for database-related incidents and service requests.

  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues. Monitor and optimize database performance and resource utilization.

Database Design and Optimization:

  • Assist in designing and optimizing database schemas, indexes, and queries.

  • Implement and manage database replication, clustering, and failover strategies.

  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to database architecture and technologies.

  • Perform pro-active capacity planning, recommend and implement solutions to provide scalability.

  • Participation in development projects ranging from oversite on DB related changes to design discussions.

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 6+ years of work experience

  • 3+ years of experience in database administration, with at least 2 years focused on AWS database services.

  • Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database – Specialty) are highly desirable.

  • Relevant AWS Certifications ( eg : AWS Cloud Practitioner' and/or 'SysOps Administrator and/or AWS Certified Data Engineer)

  • Proficiency in AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and other AWS database services and familiarity with the shared responsibility model.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).

  • Expert knowledge installing, configuring and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server DBA for 2008 R2,2012, 2016,2019 and above , Experience migrating old SQL Server environments to latest version

  • Knowledge of VMware and SQL within a VM environment

  • Expert skills with T-SQL query development, optimization, and stored procedures

  • Strong experience with SQL Server replication (transactional and merge) setup, maintenance and trouble shooting

  • Familiarity with database performance monitoring solutions/tools such as [e.g., SQL Sentry, Datadog, etc.].

  • Business Intelligence tools deployment/ data warehousing

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong commitment to meeting customer needs , Good "team player", strong interpersonal skills

  • "Self starter", highly motivated , Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
